UK Based Racelogic recently released the VBox Mini, a compact, yet powerful GPS based speed measurement device, including data logging and an LCD display.
Operators can measure all aspects of vehicle performance, and review the results instantly on the built-in LCD display. It’s great for lap timing, giving the driver instant feedback on lap-times, split-times, and corner speeds. The built in SD card interface with USB gives full data logging capabilities, and comes with the powerful VBox Tools software analysis package as supplied with the VBox II / III range. This software with its graph screen, circuit map, data grid and Report Generator function is used the world over for data analysis by the majority of motor manufacturers, tyre companies, and magazines. Applied Measurement is pleased to introduce the new MSI D Series Inclinometer with high resolution at very low cost. With resolution of 0.001 degrees, the D Series is much more accurate than traditional fluid level tilt sensors but much less expensive than high accuracy servo units. The D Series Inclinometer can be used for any levelling application, including mobile and stationary cranes, lifting platforms, mobile weighing systems and outdoor equipment. This CE-approved tilt sensor is housed in a rugged aluminum package to protect the electronics from the elements. The D Series is rated IP67 for use in the harshest environmental conditions.

When an alternating voltage is passed between two electrodes, the electric current will create a dispersed field. By tilting the sensor and thereby reducing the level of the liquid, it is possible to confine this stray field. Because of the constant, specific conductivity of the electrolytes a variance of resistance is formed in relation to the liquid level.
