µ-CANSAS: digitalization for sensors

Any signal sources or sensors, such as signals of voltage, current, temperature, strain gauges, ICP, RPMs, displacement etc. Can be connected directly and transmitted over far distances without distortion. Wiring of complicated measurement lines is thus totally obsolete.

Within the measurement module, the analog signals are processed and transformed to a CAN-message. A digital signal processor allows computation of the signals in real time, which provides for smart measurement – significant data reduction. A wide variety of functions such as filtering, averaging, min./max., resampling and real-time data reduction, and much more, is available.

The function parameters are specified by the user by means of a software interface which features intuitive settings-dialogs. No special expertise in CAN-bus technology is required to work with the module. After a one-time parameterizing procedure, the CANSAS is simply connected to a sensor. It starts by itself and implements its settings immediately upon receiving a supply voltage. The measured data are then continuously emitted to the CAN-bus at a user-specified transfer rate.

µ-CANSAS - Features

·         The µ-CANSAS module can periodically send a CAN-Bus message ("Heartbeat"). This can serve to verify whether the correct module is being with the correct configuration.

·         The configuration operable in the module can be read by the software, which makes it possible for configurations made by other users to be transferred using just the module.
